Regensburg -UNESCO World Heritage Site
between History, Culture and Technology
Regensburg is well-known for its long history and the well preserved medieval Old Town with nearly 1.500 listed buildings and a picturesque cityscape. The most famous town landmarks, the St. Peter’s Cathedral and the Old Stone Bridge, which was built in the 12th century, are popular tourist attractions and photo motifs. Other sights, such as the Old Town Hall (occupied by the Perpetual Imperial Assembly from 1663 to 1803) and St. Emmeram’s Abbey and Palace attract millions of visitors every year.
Event locations, like the Donau Arena or the marinaforum, host a variety of concerts and events. Enjoy Regensburg’s cultural offering in the numerous theaters and museums, with the Museum of Bavarian History, opened in 2019, as the most prominent one. Regensburg, as a center of technology, is home to many industrial enterprises among them are BMW, Infineon and Continental.
